Concordia University is an excellent institution of higher learning with a Christian foundation affiliated with the Lutheran Church (LCMS). Founded in 1894 by the The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Concordia University, Nebraska is a private, coeducational institution of higher learning. The main campus is located in Seward, Neb. (population 6,500), about 25 miles west of Lincoln, the state capitol. The graduate school and degree completion program are based in Lincoln.
The Walz Human Performance Complex was completed at the end of 2010. The fieldhouse features an indoor 200 meter track with a multipurpose infield. There is an 8 lane front straight away and a 6 lane track, three sand pits, two pole vault pits and a netted throwing ring.
Since 1986, Concordia University, Nebraska pole vaulters have become known for consistently producing some of the top pole vaulters in the NAIA. Through the mid 90's, pole vaulters from Concordia could be seen all over the country competing with and winning some of the top NCAA and NAIA track meets.
